Responsible or not?

Climate is changing and nowadays more and more people are aware of it. However, as ‘YouGov’ survey presents, half of the UK population and most European citizens do not feel like they are responsible for global warming.

This evidence can be surprising because we live in the era of news blaming us of devastating our Planet. Everybody knows Extinction Rebellion group or the young activist Greta Thunberg, whose one of though-provoking quote says:  ‘You say you love your children above all else, and yet you are stealing their future in front of their very eyes’.

The survey has brought the conclusion which Dr Benny Peiser- director of The Global Warming Policy Foundation put into these words: ‘The public can tell when they are on the receiving end of a hard sell. The more climate alarmists scream about emergencies, the more the mainstream media shut down any dissent, the less convinced the man in street will be’.

What is more, ‘YouGov’ survey is not the first which exposes such unbelievable reports. Previous polls, like ‘British Social Attitudes Survey’ presents similar results. Dr Peiser explains that surprising conclusion in this way: ‘ According to the Office of National Statistics Britons are actually becoming happier and wealthier. When they are being told that there is a climate emergency, that they must tighten their belts and that nobody seriously disagrees, people naturally assume that they are being conned’.

The main question is: Are we responsible for climate change or not? This difficult issue should be analysed again and maybe then more people will think over our guilt of destroying the Earth.
